《若》是我輩在團契中常唱的金曲，歌詞動人，卻不協粵韻。前幾年，我順著歌詞的大意改寫成這一首，卻一直也未有發表。

《May God’s Blessing Surround You》旋律優美，公理堂的青少年崇拜擬以之作為崇拜結尾的祝福短詩，但其中文歌詞若用粵語來唱卻很是蹺口；我從青少部部長處接到柯打，想儘快把歌詞改寫成粵韻；因時間趕忙，連英文歌詞也不及細看，實在無暇嚴謹地重譯，索性重寫，在臉書上跟幾位兄姊來回交流一番後，於廿四小時內，搞了下面這個出來：

昨天公理堂元旦日感恩崇拜裡，禮頓必街兩堂的JoyfulKids同學和導師們獻唱了一首《天父愛記在虹彩》的詩歌，中譯的歌詞係海牛年多前的拙作，一直未有發表，是因為在蔡紹雄弟兄牽頭下，曾與幾位弟兄組了一個小組，一心想集眾人之力做一些以粵韻翻譯詩歌的工作，待有集體成果才一併發表，奈何兩年下來，各有各忙，產量無幾…

這首短歌，算是教會兒童事工JoyfulKids的主題曲；一直都覺得中文版的歌詞不太協音。
今早，踱步回公司途中，回顧自己寫的歌，多圍繞受苦的主題，少有開心的歌詞，就忽然想到不如把這首歌填個新詞吧：

把《我知誰掌管明天》填上新詞後，當然會想到另一首相似的金曲《我知誰掌管前途》。
這曲對我信仰之影響比前者尤深。一早我已想把它重譯，奈何苦無靈感。這次決心再試，終算有所成。
查原來近年已有Raymond Tam和林國璋牧師兩位為這歌重譯粵詞：http://cantonhymn.wikispaces.com/I+Know+Who+Holds+The+Future。在我重譯時並未有作參考，但我的版本跟Raymond Tam的版本之末句竟不約而同，若有人說我抄襲，我亦懶得辯解。

然而，人生總會遇著一些令人氣餒的時候，雖然心裡確信主的應許，但在困境中的苦候是何等磨人……我把歌曲填上了新粵詞，以表達這一種掙扎。

註：此粵詞乃重新創作，並非原歌詞之直譯。
試把Jill Jackson Miller and Sy Miller寫於1955年的這首《Let There be Peace on Earth》翻譯成粵詞，遇著最大的困難是如何翻出作者灌入歌詞中那「創世」的類比。作者用了英文聖經中上帝在創世時說話的句式：「Let there be…」若由英文直譯就會是「讓……有」那可不同於中文聖經的譯法：「要……有」若用在歌詞上，前者在語氣上比較貼近和平的題旨，而後者則顯得過於自我。
吊詭的地方就在這裡，當人看重自我，世上便難有和平；但偏偏和平的第一步，又需要每一個「我」願意把自我放低，由「我」做起，才能開創和平的局面。
Anyway，譯詞就是有這麼多的限制啦！若沒有那創造的靈的感動，是很難有「看著是好的」結果……
